Monitor
EU democracy reform Monitor
The EU Democracy Monitor is a rolling timeline that tracks the evolution of democratic reform in the EU since the end of the Conference on the Future of Europe, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of developments across different institutions and actors, from the national to the EU level. The Monitor tracks direct follow up to the Conference on the Future of Europe by the EU institutions in terms of the citizens’ recommendations, as well as how the institutions are taking the experience of the Conference into account in terms of reform in the EU’s participatory infrastructure and citizens’ participation efforts at the EU level. The Monitor also tracks developments in discussions on institutional reform and treaty change in the EU, as well as the upcoming 2024 European elections in this respect. Our aim is to foster transparency and accountability and to promote informed public debate on the future of democracy in Europe.
In the Monitor below, you can select different categories and different actors to filter the developments.
